Nathan Dickson
DevOps Software and Test Engineer
I'm a senior Developer and Test Engineer with a strong background in the telecommunications industry, working on Critical National Infrastructure and Large-Scale Projects. I have a wide range of skills in Computer Science, Neural Networks, Web Development, and Software Development. I hold a degree in Computer Science from the University of Suffolk and am passionate about information technology.
From a young age, I've loved building and tinkering with projects. The joy of creating something from scratch has always driven me. As a DevOps engineer, I channel that passion into my work, enjoying the dynamic challenges and constant innovation the field brings. For me, it's more than just a job—it's a lifelong commitment to crafting solutions and embracing the ever-evolving landscape of technology.
Outside of work, I enjoy scouting and exploring the great outdoors. These activities balance my life and fuel my creativity.
My professional journey has led me to the telecommunications industry, which is incredibly rewarding. It's the foundation of many everyday activities—video calls with loved ones, online shopping, emergency calls, navigation, and even access to healthcare. It's fascinating to be part of the technological backbone that enhances people's lives.
I'm excited about the new challenge of pursuing a PhD, further expanding my knowledge, and contributing to cutting-edge advancements in my field.

A common challenge for organizations providing vast ranges of services to large customer pools is linking customers only to relevant services, due to the sheer amount of service and customer information available. Using AI techniques, this project provided a linkage between the emotional needs of potential end users and events available through the education and community support charity Suffolk Libraries. The effective data classification and the implementation of a personalized recommendation algorithm allowed the project to connect the events and services offered to those members of the community who would benefit most from them.
